Roberto Artavia

Costa Rican. Roberto is a marine engineer graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He has an MBA from INCAE Business School and a Ph.D. from Harvard Business School.

Former President of INCAE Business School as well as Chairman of VIVA Trust and Fundación Latinoamérica Posible.

He served as Rector of INCAE Business School and was the founding director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development. Roberto is also a member of the Board of Directors of the World Resources Institute in Washington, co-founder of Costa Rica’s Digital Strategy Project and member of the Competitiveness Committee of the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce.

He has been an adviser to many different companies, non-profit organizations and to the governments of Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador.

He is the author of several books and has written dozens of articles and case studies on topics related to sustainable development, business strategy, strategic planning for non-profit organizations, agribusiness and corporate social responsibility.

He is currently President of the Academic Council at Lead University.
